Balanced Man Program

The Balanced Man Program (BMP) is SigEp's member development platform.  We abide by a strict no-hazing, no-pledging policy and the BMP is our way to continuously develop as Brothers and as Men.

SigEp’s Balanced Man Program provides the structure, support and guidance required for today’s student to fully utilize the 90 percent of college they spend outside of classroom walls.

Based on equal rights and responsibilities for all members, the program’s progressive challenges provide brothers the opportunity to grow and fine-tune skills they can’t get in the classroom. Alumni, volunteers and university faculty and administration serve as mentors in the program, providing accountability and support.

BMP programming helps young brothers strengthen their character. It enables our young men to build leadership and communication skills and develop healthy, lifelong relationships.

Residential Learning Community

The Residential Learning Community provides undergraduate brothers with a living and learning environment for purposeful, real-life application of their academic studies. Students receive hands-on learning beyond classroom lectures by working with faculty and staff who volunteer to partner with their chapter. They are able to discuss, contextualize and apply their academic learning through conversations with their brothers and faculty in a more intimate environment. State-of-the-art facilities provide premier housing, classrooms, faculty office space and dedicated study rooms — safe and effective places to live and learn.

Today, 50 chapters are accredited through a rigorous RLC accreditation process, and elements of the program are being supported by Foundation grants at chapters nationwide.

Common Misconceptions and Concerns

I've heard stories of pledge programs, I do not want to experience that in my fraternity.

At SigEp, we do not pledge.  From the moment you accept your bid, you are just as much of a member as anyone in the chapter.  Everyone holds the same rights and responsibilities and we are all focused on continuously growing throughout our college experience.

I'm afraid Greek Life will take away from my academic success.

We hold strict grade requirements as SigEps, and we strive to ensure the academic success of our Brothers before all else.  Be it through study sessions or on-campus resources, we will do whatever we can to help each and every Brother reach the standard they have set for themselves.

Fraternities are just about partying and being wild.

As SigEps, we strive to grow as people and abide by our principles of Virtue, Diligence, and Brotherly Love.  Being a part of SigEp is about much more than partying or other common fraternity stereotypes.  Each member is focused on their own personal and professional growth, as well as enjoying their college years with their Brothers.

I don't think I can afford Greek Life.

Fraternity dues can be a daunting idea to many new members, but we offer a payment plan as well as handling every situation on a case by case basis.
